Hi Everyone! I am so excited to be sharing with you today! I took a break from blogging the last three months and it feels good to be back.
Needless to say, this past school has been a rough one for me. I ended a twelve-year relationship, had a challenging class, and lost one of my dogs.
The relationship ending was tough, but it had been coming. I have been trying to heal and work on myself for several months. I felt like I was making progress.
Things were getting better, it seemed, until about April. My boxer, Lucky, was sick with cancer and he ultimately died on May 1st. That was when my life turned upside down. I was trying to keep it together for the end of the school year. I had been dealing with many different issues with my class and it seemed to rev up during the month of May. My principal wanted to run every time she saw me because it seemed like I was talking to her daily about issues.
Blogging was the last thing I could do at this point. When I finally got through May and the end of school, I decided to continue my hiatus from blogging until I felt like I was ready. Well, after several weeks of vacation, I am already getting excited about getting ready for the new school year. I even went into school today to start working on my classroom for a few hours.
I am glad to say that I am back to eating right, exercising daily, and devoting some time to myself. I am also looking forward to going to the beach tomorrow with friends. The point is that sometimes we have to take a step back and take care of ourselves to be healthy. Unfortunately, life has twists and turns that add stress to our lives, but it is our job to put what is important first and the rest can wait until we are ready.
