Welcome to this month’s reveal and review. With the beginning of the year, many of us are looking for teaching materials. Here are two products you might find useful in your classroom.
Reveal
My latest product is Currently Writing Activities. I used this at the beginning of the school year. As you know, I looped with 13 students this year. So, I had to find alternate opening activities since those kiddos did my normal ones last year. I had students fill out a rough draft template. They wrote ideas or facts that relate to them currently according to each prompt. For example, for listening, students can list sounds they hear, music they listen to right now, and/or words they hear from others.
Once the students fill out the rough drafts, I collect them and type them in the template and add the students pictures. You could also push out the form to them and they can type their own form. I just did it myself because Back-to-School Night was coming up quickly.
This product includes grade levels 3rd -6th, all months, seasons, and one for birthdays. The nice thing about this writing activity is you can do it monthly or each season and the students answers will change because they are writing what they are currently wanting, needing, thinking, etc. It is also editable where you can choose your own categories and artwork.

Review
The product I am reviewing the month is Publishing Party Power Pack by Teaching Right Along. This product has all the things you would need to celebrate students’ writing by having a classroom publish party. Included are publishing party ideas and invitations. It also has pages for writer’s reflections and compliment pages. It is a print and go product. I like that there are different versions. One version is for lower grades where there are sentence starters and another for higher grades with more blank spaces for more writing.
