Like many of you, we had a exciting Valentine’s Day right before the our four day weekend. My students created an art project that day. We designed Valentine’s Day trees. Once they were decorated, we added phrases that went with friendship and the holiday.
Another thing that we did school wide this past week was celebrate Kindness Matters week. Each day we had small activities that celebrated kindness. such as, reading picture books, writing kind notes to our reading buddies, and talking about small acts of kindness. But the big celebration was on the last day of the week, we created a giant heart with the entire school. Each class made a chain of kindness promises that was the small heart inside the school heart. The picture from the drone turned out way better than I thought it would.
Finally, I had flowers delivered to me at school. I was so surprised! They were from my daughter. I had no idea she was going to send me flowers. She is so thoughtful and I am so proud of the young woman she is becoming.
