Happy Holidays, everyone! My first weekend of the month is usually – What’s Going on in Room B5? However, after a week off for Thanksgiving, I was assigned to a case for jury duty. I was hoping it was only going to be Monday, but it turned out to last all week. It is the second trial I have been on and I actually didn’t mind doing my civic duty. I did miss kids though!
Since I wasn’t even with my students the last two weeks, I decided to show you my Christmas decorations that I put up this week. I love to decorate my house for the holidays. Several years ago, I remodeled my entire house which led me to downsize on a lot of items like Christmas decorations. I have been slowly building my collection again.
The one thing I have been doing for the last 25 years is buying personalized Christmas dough ornaments. I have been collecting them over the years and I probably have over 120 of them. I have had relatives living with me off and on, pets come into the household, and relationships that came and went. All the ornaments over the years reflect all that, so it really is like a history of my life for the last 25 years.
I have to take a picture every year when the new ornaments arrive. I don’t want any repeats.
I have been doing garlands around the doors and windows in my living room. It took a couple of years to collect them. The first ones I bought were just greens and I have to decorate them myself. But the next few years, I found some at Costco that were already decorated – so much better! Here are some pictures of my tree and living room.
However you celebrate this season, I hope you find joy in it! Since December has five weekends, I will begin my monthly blogging next weekend with What’s Going on in Room B5? Have a great week and I hope you stop by again!
